Personal data handling and information collection and use

Information collection and use is necessary in order to provide the services required by the Client.

When you make a booking via the Transib.net web site, we need to collect information about you to process the transaction and fulfill your order. This information includes, but is not limited to, details such as your name, your contact details (email, phone, fax) and your credit card details. When you submit a request via our email support forms, we also collect your name and email so that we may respond to your request or query as quickly as possible.

We use this contact information in order to reserve the required services by passing them onto the relevant supplier, to send you details of the booking confirmation and if necessary to inform you of updates or changes to your travel plans. If we have trouble processing a request this contact information is used to get in touch with you. The financial information is used for billing purposes and to complete your orders.

In addition, if you have opted to sign up for membership offered by our website, your email address will be used to send you an email message confirming your new member registration. As a member you, will occasionally receive updates from us about special rate offers, newsletters and any noteworthy changes to the website. However, you may always unsubscribe from receiving these email messages. Please see our Opting Out policy described below.

We store your information for as long as we need to do so in order to fulfil our legal obligations or in order to keep you informed of our products. We use your information to create generic information, which we then use for market and commercial analysis. This generic information does not identify you personally.

Like most web sites, there is certain information we automatically track, including the URL that you just came from, the browser you are using and your IP address. This data is utilised to improve the services of Transib.net and does not include any personally identifying information.

Sharing Information

Information is shared with a) our bank and b) third parties providing the ground services requested by clients.

a) When paying by credit card we pass your card details to our bank for authorisation of the transaction and for payment.
b) We disclose your information to third parties (such as our hotels) only for the purpose of completing your transaction with us, providing the above services to you and for the purposes of associated administration. You should be aware that hotels in certain countries may not be subject to data protection laws. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
c) Apart from sharing your information as mentioned above, we do not disclose your details to any other person without your consent unless there is an emergency situation that requires it or we are legally required to do so.

Cookies

We may, from time to time, use "cookies" to store your preferences, record session information and collect information on how you visit and access our Web pages. We collect information on the Web pages visited by our customers in order to help us to continue improving our services. You can always choose to not receive a cookie file by enabling your Web browser to refuse cookies or prompt before accepting a cookie but by refusing to accept a cookie you may not be able to access many of the services offered by Transib.net.

These details are stored securely at all times, are not used for any other purpose and will never be provided to any unauthorized third parties.

Whilst SSL encryption is used to protect sensitive information online we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All your information is restricted in our offices and is placed under limited access. All employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices with regular quarterly updates or whenever new policies are added.

Opting out of promotional information

We at Transib.net work hard to provide our clients with the best possible rates in all our hotels. From time to time, we will send our members newsletters, updates and specials for hotels in certain areas. You will only receive this correspondence if you have chosen to do so and we hope that you will find these items informative and useful. However, should you choose to not receive them in the future, you will have the ability to unsubscribe from the mail database by clicking on the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email.

Any material changes in the way we use personal information will be described in future versions of this privacy statement as soon as it is reasonably possible.
