Frequently Asked Questions
2.6 I would like to go on Trans-Siberian in winter. Is it very cold?Russian winters are severe. Carriages and houses are well heated. When you go outside, you should be properly dressed (please see the section “Getting ready for your travel”) even if the temperature seems to be quite comfortable. There’s quite a number of prejudices about Siberia and unbelievable cold there. Normally city life doesn’t get frozen even at -30 degrees Celsius. People go shopping, children go to school, buses, trams and trains keep to the normal schedule etc. – only get dressed more carefully. |
