Frequently Asked Questions
2.5 Can I choose where to stop before I depart for a Transsib tour?Yes! The train tickets are bought for fixed dates and all the stops can be planned in advance. If you have a ticket Moscow-Vladivostok and step off the train in Irkutsk, you can’t use your ticket for a next train going to Vladivostok. If your stop is not planned in advance and not revealed in your tickets, your ticket will be cancelled and you’ll get stuck in Irkutsk. It’s somewhat similar to a plane going from New York to Moscow with a connection in Amsterdam – if you decide to go out in Amsterdam and lose your flight you can’t use your ticket for a next flight to Moscow. On your Transsiberian ticket(s) there are mentioned your name, date and time of departure and date and time of arrival. For more information on what you can read on your ticket please see this link. Thus you should buy separate tickets for different legs of your travel, for the above example these would be the two tickets Moscow-Irkutsk and Irkutsk-Vladivostok. We suggest you follow our advice to create a fantastic itinerary. |
